Syrian Refugee Blanket Drive

Purcellville (Loudoun County) Mayor, Bob Lazaro, visited Turkey as part of a cultural exchange.  When he visited a Syrian refugee camp, he was moved to find a way to help.  Mayor Lazaro wrote about his experience and initiated a blanket drive for the Syrian refugees being sheltered in Turkey. The blog entry can is at: http://boblazaro.blogspot.com/2013/11/what-i-saw-in-syrian-refugee-camp-how.html.

Blankets should be new or gently used, clean and folded.  The goal of the drive is to fill a shipping container that will be delivered to Turkey, where a relief agency will distribute the blankets to refugee families.

Donations will be gratefully accepted until NOON on Friday, December 6th.
