Be there for the public opening of the Kennedy Center's newest festival, Arabesque: Arts of the Arab World. There are a limited number of complimentary tickets available for the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra on Tuesday, February 24th at 7:30 p.m. If interested, please let me know yourfull name and count no later than 11 a.m. Monday, February 23rd by replying kc-scotty-owner@ yahoogroups. com Should the tickets run out before then I'll send an email update. Please remember I have no control over location of seats, any requests for more than two tickets may require splitting your party up, and please reply by email only. Also, requests for complimentary tickets for future events cannot be accepted, I merely post what's been offered to me. And finally, once 11 a.m. comes and goes, please do not email me asking if you can still get tickets, this only puts me in anawkward position. Tickets will be held in the names provided at our Will Call window for pickup after 6 p.m. and an email confirmation will be sent to the requestor.
Lorin Maazel conducts the Arab and western musicians of the orchestra inits international debut program that includes two new works by their Artistic Director Marcel Khalifé and Beethoven's immortal Fifth Symphony.
About the Program: INTERNATIONAL DEBUT! Based in Doha, Qatar, the newly formed Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, MarcelKhalifé, music director and resident composer, makes its international debut.
Maestro Lorin Maazel, Music Director of the New York Philharmonic, conducts the Arab and western musicians of the orchestra in a program thatincludes Beethoven's powerful and ageless Symphony No. 5 and two new works by Khalifé: Arabian Concerto and Salute.
